يعرف الأطفال اليهود أن السلام حق أكيد لكل إنسان يعيش على ظهر الأرض، لذلك كتبوا يعبرون عن وجهة نظرهم في هذا الموضوع، ويؤكدون على أن الحق في السلام يجب أن يكون مكفولا للطفل الإسرائيلي وغيره من الأطفال الآخرين. وعنوان الديوان محور الدراسة في هذا الكتاب "سلامي وأمني" هو عنوان يصرح بأفكاره، فهو عبارة عن قصائد من بنات أفكار الأطفال اليهود في إسرائيل، يعبرون فيه عن وجهة نظرهم في قضية تمس أوتار الإحساس عندهم وهو موضوع السلام. يضم الديوان بين دفتيه أربع وتسعين صفحة من القطع الكبير به قصائد شعرية ورسومات للأطفال من سن ست سنوات ونصف إلى خمس عشرة سنة. ظهرت الطبعة الأولى من الديوان باللغة العبرية تحت عنوان "هشالوم ش لى" عام 1974، وفي عام 1975 نشرت طبعة مترجمة باللغة الإنكليزية عن دار نشر "كتب الصابرا" في تل أبيب. وقد تمت ترجمة هذه القصائد في هذا الكتاب مع دراسة تحليلية والهدف التعرف على ثقافة الإسلام لدى الأطفال الإسرائيليين من خلال قراءة ديوان سلامي وأمني وترجمته وتحليله من الناحيتين الكيفية والإحصائية.
