والسبب الذى حملنى على أن أحمل راية التحقيق في هذا الكتاب هو السبب الذى حملنى على أن أحملها في كتابه السابق، فالكتاب بحالته الراهنة تكثر فيه الأخطاء المطبعية والتحريفات التى لا تعد من كثرتها، فضلاً عن الكلمات الغامضة، والنصوص الشعرية التى اختلطت بالنصوص النثرية، وبعض التركبيات التى سقطت بعض كلماتها، فعزت على الفهم، مع أن الكتاب كما سنبين بعد، يجمع ألواناً من المعرفة لا يستغني عنها أديب، أو طالب نحو، أو دارس لغة. لهذا كله صمم عزمي على أن أجدد علاقتى بالسيوطي. هأنذا أقدم لك أيها القارئ الكتاب كاملاً بأجزائه التسعة. بعد أن صفيته من التحريفات التى تستبد بجماله، والأخطاء التى تطغي على جلاله، والغموض الذى أحاط ببعض كلماته.
