هذا الكتاب ما هو إلَّا مبادرة من أصل حزمة مبادرات تهدف إلى تفتيت الحواجز الأيديولوجية المتسببة في تجزئة التاريخ السياسي والاجتماعي لسكان حوض الخليج العربي، علماً بأن هذه الأيدولوجيا فرضت على هؤلاء العرب منذ ما يزيد على مائتي عام.
وتحديداً عندما أرسلت بريطانيا العظمى سفنها الحربية إلى مياه الخليج العربي في عام (1224ه-1809م) في حملة ضخمة بدعوى مكافحة القرصنة فدمرت كل من رأس الخيمة ولنجة وأعقب ذلك فرض اتفاقية سلام بحرية على كافة السكان بدعوى ضبط سلوكهم الملاحي، مما نتج عنه إعاقة الحركة الطبيعية للعشائر العربية بين ضفتي الخليج وانتهى الأمر بتجزئة وحدة الثقافة والهوية والتاريخ.
استعرضنا في إصدارات سابقة لنا تاريخ عرب "الهولة" بشكل عام وناقشنا معنى المصطلح "هولة" وعلى من يطلق وأسباب نشأته وتأتي الآن فكرة هذا الكتاب بهدف استكمال مشروع التعرفة بتاريخ هؤلاء الخليجيون ولكن هذه المرة سنبحث في تاريخ قبيلة آل حرم إحدى فروع عرب الهولة بشيء من التفصيل لنوضح الحقيقة للباحثين والمهتمين بهذا الشأن لإضاءة الزويا المظلمة من تاريخ منطقة حوض الخليج العربي.
هذا الكتاب ثري بالمعلومات نظراً لاعتماده بشكل أساسي على مجموعة كبيرة من الوثائق والمخطوطات النادرة غير المنشورة والتي من أهمها مجموعة الوثائق الشخصية الخاصة بشيوخ قبيلة آل حرم التي تؤرخ للفنرة من عام (1200-1370هـ/1785-1950م).
إضافة إلى الاعتماد على مجموعة أخرى من الوثائق النادرة وغير المنشورة تم العثور عليها في الأرشيف الإنجليزي وأرشيف وزارة الداخلية الإيرانية وأرشيف وزارة الخارجية الإيرانية ومخطوطات جامعة الإمام محمد بن سعود الإسلامية.
