سلسلة من " بروتوكولات المخدر"، كتبها هو و رفاقه بين 1927-1934م، على جانب قطع نثرية قصيرة نشرها خلال حياته، "عن الحشيش" يوفر صورة حميمة لبنيامين المغامر فى نهايات جمهورية فايمار. هنا ينتمى بنيامين بوعى فائق الى طريقة خبراء المخدر الأدبيين العريقة من "بودلير" إلى "هيرمان هسه". تمعن فى الحشيش والمخدرات الأخرى بوصفها تدشينا لما أسماه "الأستنارة الدنسة" بين أيدينا هنا طريقة جديدة للرؤية، تصال جديد بالعالم المعتاد. تحت تأثير الحشيش، يصبح الزمان و المكان شيئا واحداً، وما أسماه بنيامين فى دراسته للسريانية "حيز الصورة" ، تدب الحياة فى ذلك الأنغماس الفلسفى للحس.
