وبقي الشعر ديوان العرب حتى مع كفر قريش، فالإسلام لا يناهض الثقافة الأدبية، وشهر النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم الشعر سلاحاً في المعركة ضد قريش، فكان له شعراؤه المنافحون في الإسلام. في هذا السياق يأتي هذا الديوان الذي هو عبارة عن مجموعة قصائد قد أنفقت للشاعر في خمسين عاماً في بدايتها، وقد قيلت بحق النبي والزهراء والأئمة الإثني عشر، وهي تتفنى بأمجادهم، وتشيد بذكرهم، وتتحدث عن قيادتهم الغراء، وجهادهم في سبيل إعلاء كلمة الله في الأرض، وتعرف إلى ظلامتهم في إقصائهم عن منازلهم التي أنزلهم الله إياها، وتستنكر إستبعادهم عن قيادة الأمة، وتستعظم عدم الرجوع إليهم في شأن الدين والدنيا، وهم الذين أذهب الله عنهم الرجس وطهرهم تطهيراً. وقد تم إبقاء أغلب هذه القصائد في مهرجانات عالمية ومحافل دولية وندوات قطرية، وكان لها الأثر الفاعل في شحذ الهمم والغرائم، وشجب الظلم والطغيان ومكافحة المبادئ والوافدة، ومحاربة الطائفية والإقليمية والعنصرية في العراق خاصة، والدعوة إلى وحدة الصف والتآخي. وكان الشاعر في قصائده هذه حريصاً على تفعيل نقطعة مركزية ذات أهمية قصوى في نظره، ألا وهي ضرورة الإفتداء بالرسول الأعظم صلى الله عليه وسلم وأئمة أهل البيت رضي الله عنه والسير في خطبهم القيادي الرفيع الذي يوصل إلى الله تعالى.
