الاستنساخ هو عملية توالد غير جنسي، تتم بأخذ خلية من خلايا جسم الإنسان تحتوي على "كافة المعلومات الوراثية" الخاصة بالإنسان، وهذه الخليّة تزرع في "بويضة الأنثى" بعد تفريغها من كامل موروثاتها ليأتي الجنين مطابقاً للأصل وبعد ذلك تودع البويضة في رحم الأنثى، ويتشكل الجنين على نحو مطابق للكائن الأصلي الذي أخذت منه الخلية. من هنا سمِّيت هذه العملية "استنساخاً" لأن الجنين يكون نسخة مطابقة لصاحب الخلية. وقد غدا الاستنساخ واحداً من أهم المواضيع المطروحة على مائدة البحث والمناقشة والتنظير اليوم. وأهميته تكمن في جهتين: 1-الإطار الفكري ومجموع القيم والمفاهيم التي تحكم هذه التقنية (الإدارة الفكرية). 2-النتائج الموضوعية لنفس هذه التقنية وما يمكن أن تتوصل إليه عبر هذا الكشف الثوري.
ضمن هذا الإطار يأتي البحث في هذا الكتاب، وغاية المؤلف مساعدة القارئ في فهم مجموعة من العناوين والأطر التي تحكم هذا الموضوع الذي ما زال حتى الآن السبب الرئيسي في انقسامات حقوقية مفاهيمية تتضارب فيما بينها البين.. خاصة أن العالم النافذ يريد وبصراحة جليّة أن يعيد كتابه المعنى الحقوقي من خلال نسف البُنى التي يرتكز عليها ذلك المفهوم.
