فلما رمى نظرة فاحصة ولم يسقطها كعادته في رؤية الأشياء أو أثناء محادثة الناس..ظن أنه شبح الموت وقد تجسد جليا مع بريق زجاج البوابة الفيميه البني، فقال:
"اسمي يوسف عرفة" ملابسي من ريس الطير، أقيم في حي العباسية. أما أنت الذي أكرهك وأمقتك، لأنك أخذت أهلي وناسي مني.. أراك الان تسعى لأن تلحق بي.
قدر أنت أية جريمة اقترفتها في حقي؟
لخمسين سنة ظننت أنني أهرب منك، لا أبحث عن ملامحك وأسرارك ولخمسين سنة تركتني.
لماذا الآن تبين لي؟!
كانت مسعاي أن أهرب منك، أذوب بعيدا عنك، فمرت الأيام والليالي قصيرة وإن طالت.. عديمة اللون والرائحة والمذاق وإن عشتها على ذمة أن تتركها لي وحدي، ثم تقاذفتني الأمواج التي بلا مرسي.

حان الوقت لأن أواجهك و .....تعال" ......................
