تحول الزواج الأسطوري بين الإمبراطورة المصرية الجميلة "فوزية" شقيقة فاروق "ملك مصر" وزوجها محمد رضا بهلوى شاه" إيران إلى قصة حب انتهت بمأساة أسرة، وعصر، وسلطة، وإمبراطورية، واشتد فيها الصراع بين العاطفة والسياسة والمصلحة.
وجاء هذا الزواج تعبيراً عن رغبة وفكرة وأحلام "فاروق" ملك مصر مما يؤدي إلى تدعيم العلاقات السياسية والدينية بين البلدين الأكبر في منطقة الشرق لأوسط "مصر وإيران" ليس ذلك فحسب بل هي خطوة نحو تحقيق فكرته الشخصية أو حلمه الكبير بأن يكون خليفة المسلمين خاصة إذا تمكن من عقد بقية زيجات شقيقاته مع الأسر المالكة في البلدان العربية الإسلامية المجاورة.
ولم يقدر لهذا الزواج استمرار، ولم يصمد في مواجهة ضغوط ومؤامرات في القاهرة وطهران، وعاشت الإمبراطورة فوزية تندب حظها العاثر بعدما تم الطلاق.
أما الشاه نفسه، فقد تزوج ثانية وثالثة، وتحول إلى أكبر ديكتاتور وطاغية في القرن العشرين، وانتهى الأمر بالإطاحة به على يد الثورة الإسلامية، وحاول اللجوء إلى أصدقائه الأمريكان، ولكنهم رفضوا استقباله، ولم يجد من يستضيفه سوى صديقه الرئيس المصري أنور السادات.
وهذا الكتاب يرصد هذه الأحداث كلها من صفحات التاريخ من خلال البحث والتنقيب والتوغل في دروبه وأعماقه وهو ما يسعى إليه الأستاذ سمير فراج "ابن الشاطئ" مؤلف هذا الكتاب إضافة إلى كتبه السابقة والتي يرصد فيها فترات التاريخ الملكي المصري، قبل ثورة 23 يوليو 1952.
