هذا الكتاب يقدم قراءة جديدة للشاهد البلاغي، ومن خلال الشاهد يقدم مفاهيم جديدة، فعلم المعاني لم يعد كما هو، وعلم البيان لم يعد كما كان، لأن المفاهيم التي يقدمها الكتاب خرجت من قراءة النص - فالخبر لم يخرج عن غرضه لأغراض أخرى، وكذلك الإنشاء لم يخرج عن غرضه.
والإستعارة ليست تشبيهاً حذف أحد طرفيه كما يزعمون، بل وسيلة لخلق العالم إنطلاقاً من أن النص يطرح نفسه بديلاً لعالم الواقع، ولا يطرح نفسه شبيهاً له.
