وفي "الهروب إلى الجحيم" قلق واضطراب سريعين، وفيها أيضًا بحثٌ هادئ متأمِّل، حيث سعى المؤلف إلى التقاط الجزئيات الدالة من الحياة اليومية التي رصدها وعزلها، كما رصد تفاصيل حياة كاملة ونسج منها صورًا وجدانية بطريقة متناغمة تشدنا إلى الحدث والشخصيات، فجاءت المجموعة معبِّرة وصادقة، من خلال أسلوب سردي مناسب متوازن، وخيال خصب، وتشبيهات واستعارات لغويه طازجة.
