يسرّني أن أقدّم للقارئ العربي عامّة، والفلسطيني خاصّة، عملاً أدبياً محوره الأساسي حكايات فلسطينية من صميم التراث الفلسطيني، نطّلع من خلالها على عادات وتقاليد الفلاح الفلسطيني بمفاهيمه ومعتقداته الإجتماعية والدينية والسياسية.
هي حكايات نقلها أحد الرواة عن بسطاء الناس كما رووها، إلا أنه نقلها بلغة عربية فصيحة أثبتناها كما وردت في المخطوطة نفسها.
وسيجد القارئ في هذا الكتاب، بالإضافة إلى المادة الرئيسيّة، أي الحكايات نفسها، ثلاثة أنواع من الدراسة التحليلية يخدم كل منها هدفاً مختلفاً، وهي التمهيد الذي وسّعنا فيه حديثنا عن مفهوم الحكاية بأنواعها المختلفة وأصولها ورأي الباحثين العرب والمستشرقين في ذلك؛ الحواشي والتعقيبات.
هدفنا من خلالها توثيق وتعريف الكثير من الأماكن الجغرافية في فلسطين والشخصيات المختلفة والمفاهيم والمعتقدات التي كانت، وما زال بعضها، سائداً بين عامّة الناس، ثم تحليل الوحدات الوظيفيّة للحكايات اعتماداً على تصنيف الباحث الروسي "بروب" Proop في كتابه Morphology حتى نتمكن من الوقوف على الزوايا المختلفة لهذه الحكايات.
وتشير بعض هذه الحكايات إلى تأثير معتقدات المسلمين على النصارى والعكس من ذلك، وخاصة حين نتحدث عن بلدات فلسطينية يعيش فيها المسلمون والمسيحيون جنباً إلى جنب كما هو الحال في "بيت جالا" و"الخضر" و"القدس" وغيرها من المدن والقرى الممتدة على أنحاء فلسطين.
أخيراً، لا يسعني إلا أن أتقدّم بكلمة شكر إلى أستاذي البروفسور يوسف سدان على تقديمه القيّم لهذا الكتاب، ثم أتقدّم بشكري الجزيل للقائمين على مجمع القاسمي للغة العربية وآدابها، وعلى رأسهم د. ياسين كتاني رئيس المجمع الذين أولوا الكتاب عناية بحثية ناقدة، وذلك لنشره بهدف ترسيخ الثقافة الفلسطينية.
ولا أنسى الثناء على زملائي د. غالب عنابسة، د. محمد حمد، د. أحمد إغبارية الذي راجعوا مادة هذا الكتاب.
