وهكذا ناضل حسن فتحي وخلال قرن من الزمان، لينقذ ما يمكن إنقاذه من لهجتنا المعمارية رغم تلعثمها وتهجينها، محاولاً إعادة الثقة إلى الموروث المعماري.
وهكذا فقد فتح باباً كان موصداً يعلوه الصدأ ليدخل منه طلائع معماريينا المعاصرين مكية والجادرجي، الوكيل وبدران وغيرهم، فقد كان سباقاً في التخلص من عقدة النقص إزاء منجزات العمارة الغربية في عصر ارتبطت فيه النهضة بالنهوض من تحت إمرة العثمانيين إلى أبواب أوروبا.
