أديب مصري وُلد بالقاهرة في 24 مارس 1924، لأسرة بسيطة، تخرج في كلية الحقوق جامعة فؤاد الأول (القاهرة حالياً) عام 1944، حيث عمل بالصحافة.
تقلد محمد فتحي غانم العديد من الوظائف منها:
ـ رئيس تحرير صباح الخير من عام 1959 إلى عام 1966.
ـ رئيس مجلس إدارة وكالة أنباء الشرق الأوسط ، عام 1966.
ـ رئيس تحرير جريدة الجمهورية ( 1966 وحتى 1971).
ـ رئيس تحرير روزاليوسف ( 1973 وحتى 1977).
ـ وكيل نقابة الصحفيين ( 1964 وح أديب مصري وُلد بالقاهرة في 24 مارس 1924، لأسرة بسيطة، تخرج في كلية الحقوق جامعة فؤاد الأول (القاهرة حالياً) عام 1944، حيث عمل بالصحافة.

الهيئات التي ينتمي إليها:
ـ عضو لجنة التفرغ.
ـ رئيس لحنة التحكيم بمهرجان السينما للرواية المصرية، عام 1990.
شارك فتحي غانم كرئيس للمؤتمر الثامن لأدباء الأقاليم بالعريش، عام 1993.
له العديد من المؤلفات منها:
الروايات؛ الجبل ـ من أين ـ الساخن والبارد ـ الرجل الذي فقد ظله ـ تلك الأيام ـ المطلقة ـ الغبي ـ زينب والعرش ـ الأفيال ـ قليل من الحب كثير من العنف ـ بنت من شبرا ـ ست الحسن والجمال.
مجموعات قصصية؛ تجربة حب ـ سور حديد.
ترجمة بعض القصص إلى لغات أوروبية متعددة.
ترجمة الرجل الذي فقد ظله إلى الإنجليزية.
ترجمة رواية الجبل إلى اللغة العبرية.
نال فتحي غانم العديد من الجوائز والأوسمة:
ـ جائزة الرواية العربية، بغداد، عام 1989.
ـ وسام العلوم والآداب، عام 1991.
ـ جائزة الدولة التقديرية في الآداب من المجلس الأعلى للثقافة، عام 1994.
توفي عام 1999 عن خمسة وسبعين عاماً.
