يجب أن تدرس العربية داخل إطارها الحضارى الإسلامى الذى نشأ فيه ونما بحث العلماء لها سواء أكانوا من أهل اللغة ام من المفسرين أو الفقهاء أو الاصوليين أو أصحاب الكلام. وفى ضوء هذا لإطار-وثمرة من ثمار المنهج الآنف- يمكن أن نفهم ما ذهب إليه علماؤنا الأقدمون من آراء ونظريات قد تتفق حينا ونتائج الدرس اللغوى الحديث وقد تخالفه أحايين, غير مقترفين الإثم نتحامل فيه على المنهج العربى بدعوى قصوره وتخلفه عن المنهج الغربى
وهذه الدراسة خطوة على طريق هذا المنهج. فهى تعالج واحدا من مصنفات اللغة التى أنتجتها البيئة الإسماعيلية. بما يكشف -من بعد- عن تصور هذه البيئة للغة ووظيفتها. وواضع الكتاب علم من أعلام المذهب الإسماعيلي وداعية من كبار دعاتها ورئيس الدعوة بمدينة الرى وأحد فلاسفتها المشهورين.
والحق أن كتاب الزينة ذو خطر غير قليل فى مجال الدرس الدينى والدرس اللغوى عند العرب, فهو -كما قلت- أحد تآليف الإسماعيلية فى اللغة, وقد ظهرت فيه -منهجا ومعالجة- آثار المذهب الإسماعيلي ومعتقده فى الإمامة والتأويل الباطنى وما انبنى عليه هذا التأويل من نظريات.
وهنا تكمن خطورة الكتاب فى ميدان الدرس الدينى. كذلك فإن لكتاب منهجا فريدا فى درس اللغة يتباين فيه مع غيره من الكتب التى عالجت المفردات والمصطلحات العربية, فيتسم هذا المنهج بالمعالجة التاريخية للألفاظ. وتفرد منهج (الزينة) بميزة إذ قصر بحثه على قطاع واحد من قطاعات الثروة اللفظية للغة العربة: (ألفاظ الحياة الدينية) لافتا -بذلك- إلى أحد المناهج الجديدة فى معالجة الألفاظ ودلالتها.
ومن هذا تبدو أهمية الكتاب فى الدرس اللغوى. وفى ضوء ما سبق عزمت على دراسة الكتاب أملا فى إلقاء الضوء عليه وكشفا عن قيمته بعد أن ظل حبيسا فلم يعرف ولم تتداوله جمهرة المثقفين إلا عندما قام بتحقيق قسم منه المرحوم الدكتور حسين بن فيض الله الهمدانى ووفاه الأجل فلم يتمه.
