عبد الرحمن الابنودي واحداً من أشهر شعراء الشعر العامية في مصر و العالم العربي شهدت معه وعلى يديه القصيدة العامية مرحلة انتقالية مهمة في تاريخها كتب لكبار المطربين وتنوعت اعماله مابين العاطفي والوطني والشعبي ولد عام 1938م في قرية أبنود بمحافظة قنا في صعيد مصر، لأب كان يعمل مأذوناً شرعياً، وانتقل إلى مدينه قنا حيث استمع إلى اغاني السيرة الهلالية التي تأثر بها.
من أشهر أعماله السيرة الهلالية التي جمعها من شعراء الصعيد ولم يؤلفها.
ومن أشهر كتبه كتاب (أيامي الحلوة) والذي نشره في حلقات منفصلة في ملحق أيامنا الحلوة بجريدة الأهرام تم جمعها في هذا الكتاب بأجزائه الثلاثة، وفيه يحكي الأبنودي قصصاً وأحداثاً مختلفة من حياته في صعيد مصر حصل الأبنودي على جائزة الدولة التقديرية عام 2001، ليكون بذلك أول شاعر عامية مصري يفوز بجائزة الدولة التقديرية

يحتوي هذا الكتاب والمعنون بـ "يامنة وقصائد أخرى" على مختارات دونها الشاعر "عبد الرحمن الأنبودي"، ورغم أهميتها لم تلق منه العناية اللازمة، فهو بالتالي لم يقرأها على الجمهور خلال الأمسيات الشعرية التي كان يعقدها لقراءة قصائد، كما ولم يقم بجمعها في كتاب منفرد بالرغم مما تحمله هذه القصائد من معاني جديدة. وما يميز هذه المجموعة من القصائد أنها جاءت مطبوعة ضمن كتاب وجاءت مرفقة بشريطين قام فيهما الشاعر بقراءة قصائده بصوته العذب، وبآداءه الراقي والمحبب لجميع المستمعين.
