درس الصيدلة وعمل بتدريس العلوم والكتابة والترجمة العلمية، بالإضافة إلى عمله بقسم العلوم في مكتبة الإسكندرية.
له كتاب قصصي منشور بعنوان "حكايات بعد النوم" صدر عام 2014 عن دار مدارات وصدرت طبعته الثانية عام 2020 عن دار الشروق.
وله أيضًا كتابات وترجمات في العلوم والأدب والسينما، ينشرها على مدونته.

هذا السؤال ازعجني كثيرا وأنا أعيد قراءة هذه النصوص البديعة لأكتب كلمة عنها، بل وعطلني عن هذة الكتابة، فكلما عاودت القراءة أجدني عازفا عن أن أخط كلمة، لسبب وضح لي مع الوقت، هو أنك عندما تصادف الجمال تحب أن تعيشه وتمتزجبه لا أن تحلل مكوناته لتصل إلى سر تركيبه، وهذه النصوص فائقة الجمال كلما عاودت قراءتها تغمرني النشوة، وأخرج من زحام وضوضاء العالم الفظ الذي يثقلنا، خاصة في الفترة الأخيرة، وأخلق وادور نشوان في فلك عالم من البهاء والنقاء والرحمة، وهو عالم حقيقي تماما لا اختلاق رومانسي فيه، بل تعقب واقعي لعاشق متسام يكافئة اخلاصة برؤية الحقائق البهية الكافية عن مبتذل العيون، فيما هو يقتفي أثر ما يشغفة من الكون والكائنات، فإي سحر في هذه الكتابة؟
