إن الوحي الفني لم يقيد الفنانين يوماً في أي فن من الفنون بموضوعات وصيغ لأعمالهم الفنية مطابقة لأصولها ومصادرها. لأنه لو كانت ثمة تقييد أو تحديد لفقدت هذه الأعمال مقوماتها الإبداعية وكياناتها الجمالية المقتضى على الدوام أن تكون فريدة بذاتها مضموناً وأسلوباً، ولبانت هذه الأعمال تكراراً مملاً لا إبداع فيه ولا جدة ولا انبهار بها.
لذا يقول الدكتور فاروق سعد وبصراحة بأنه لم يتردد من أن يستعير للمونودراما التي جاءت في طيات هذا الكتاب "الانتحار لا يليق بالملكة فايدرا" من مسرحيات أوروبيد وسينيكا وراسين (فايدرا) أفكاراً وأحياناً مقطوعات كاملة مما هو صادر عن شخصياتها من كلام ونقلها إلى اللغة العربية مع بعض التكييف انسجاماً مع الصياغة التي اعتمدها في بناء هذه المونودراما-البارودي، بعد أن استهواه إغراء شاعرية هذه المقطوعات وروعة خيال صورها. وشجعه على ذلك أنه سبقه إلى ذلك عدداً ممن استوحوا ترّهة "فايدرا" منهم سينيكا الذي اعتمد مقاطع من أوروبيد، وراسين نفسه الذي نقل إلى مسرحيته بعض المقاطع من أوروبيد وسينيكا. ولم يستر فعلته الفنية هذه عن القارئ أو المتفرج، على الرغم من استخدام نصوص تلك المقطوعات في هذه المونودراما ما يدخل في لعبة البارودي التي تنتمي إليها.
