يقع هذا الكتاب في خمسة فصول وخاتمة، وهي في الحقيقة تنقسم إلى قسمين، قسم نظري يعتمد علة قراءة أهم ما كتب في الأنشطة المتكاملة لطفل الروضة، وقسم ميداني يعتمد على دراسة الحقيقة للأنشطة المتكاملة في رياض الأطفال في مصر. وقد ثبت من هذه الدراسة النظرية، والتجريبية أن النشاط في الأسلوب التكاملي أقدر من المنهج المنفصل المتبع حالياً في رياض الأطفال على تحقيق أهداف مرحلة رياض الأطفال. الأمر الذي يسهل كثيراً على القائمين على أمر المناهج الأخذ بهذا الاتجاه الحديث في بناء المناهج.
إن النظرة الكلية للطبيعة الإنسانية، كانت أحد الأسباب التي دعت إلى ضرورة التفكير في إعادة تنظيم المنهج بما يحقق هذه النظرة.
هذا، وقد بادرت دول العالم المتقدم إلى الأخذ بالأسلوب التكاملي في بناء مناهجها إيماناً منها بقيمة وجدوى هذا الأسلوب في بناء المنهج الذي يعتبر وسيلة التربية وإدارتها الفعالة في تنمية مواردها البشرية.
ويعني هذا الكتاب بتقديم أنشطة متكاملة تستهدف تنمية مكونات السلوك المتكامل لدى أطفال ما قبل المدرسة.
كما أم من أهداف الكتاب إبراز أهمية عملية تقويم طفل تعطي صورة متكاملة عن تطور الطفل في الروضة في أبعاد نموه وطبيعة مفاهيمه، كما يقدم مقياساً للميول حيث ينظر إليها أسلوب التكامل على أنها قوة دافعة للتعلم الجيد والهادف، بالإضافة غلى الكشف عن الاستعدادات والمهارات والمواهب الخاصة، لتوجيهها إلى طريقها الصحيح.
