اشتمل الكتاب على ثمانية فصول رئيسية، تناول الفصل الأول "الموسيقى ودورها الوظيفي التربوي في حياة طفل الروضة"، والفصل الثاني "دراسات في التربية الموسيقية" وتعرض الفصل الثالث لـ"أهداف التربية الموسيقية ومجالاتها، وبعض التدريبات المرتبطة بممارسة طفل الروضة للألعاب، والأغاني، والإيقاعات في رياض الأطفال ووسائل التعبير الموسيقي عنها"، والفصل الرابع "الأنشطة الموسيقية المرغوب تعليمها لطفل الروضة" أما الفصل الخامس فتناول "وسائط تعليم الأنشطة الموسيقية، وأساليب التعبير عن مفاهيمها المختلفة"، والفصل السادس "أغاني الأطفال الشعبية، ودلالاتها التربوية"، والفصل السابع "الألعاب الشعبية، ودورها في ألعاب الأطفال الحالية"، أما الفصل الثامن والأخير فتناول "العقبات التي تتعرض لها معلمة الموسيقى، والناتجة عن صعوبات التعلم لدى الأطفال، وطرق التغلب عليها".
