هزت رأسها وهي لا تعرف ماذا تقول، ضحكت أمها وقبلتها وهي تقول لها أنها خلاص قد كبرت وصارت آنسة، ويجب أن تعرف أنها لم تعد صغيرة بعد آلان، فمن الآن لا ركوب للدراجة، ولا نزول للحديقة من أصله إلا وهي أو أبوها معها، لم تكن تفهم شيئاً، فازداد توترها، لكنها أومأت برأسها كثيراً لتنجو من هذا الموقف بسرعة، مرت ثلاثة شهور لم يصبها فيهم سوى نظرات أمها كل شهر تستفهم، لكنها لم تكن تعرف كيف ترد على عينيها المستفهمتين، لأنها أصلاً لا تعرف السؤال - هو مفيش؟! تسألها أمها فترمق الأرض لا تعرف كيف ترد، فتهز الأم رأسها وتبتسم وتقول أن الأيام تجري بسرعة والصغير يكبر.
