تتحرك الجوقة بمناماتهم الملونة مغمضي العيون فاغري الأفواه، يمدون أيديهم أمامهم، ويتحركون بخطوات رتيبة ممطوطة فيصطدمون ببعضهم البعض وبالجدران وتميل رؤوسهم وأيديهم وقد خرجت منها حبال ثقيلة يمسكها محمد جمعة ومديحة ومرعي وسنقر، فيحركونهم يمينًا ويسارًا، كما يتراءى لهم. وهم بدورهم يحركهم المارشال ممسكًا بمقاليد خيوطهم، وفوقه وقف رجال ذوو أنياب حادة وعيونهم مغرقة في الكحل، وشفاههم ملونة بالأحمر الدامي، كمصاصي الدماء، وقفوا فوق كرسي المارشال يمسكون بحبل غليظ كان يحكم رقبة المارشال كمشنقة فيحركونه يمينًا ويسارًا كما يتراءى لهم هم أيضًا.. والجوقة تتحرك في كل مكان، عمياء لا ترى، يتخبطون في بعضهم البعض، والمارشال يمسك أيضًا بخيوط جنوده ذوي البذات الحمراء الدموية والخوذات السوداء المعتمة، فيحركهم بخطواتٍ عسكريةٍ رتيبة، يحملون مشاعل متقدة بنار برتقالية وحمراء تتوهج وترتعش، يخرجون بها من جانب المسرح الأيسر ويتجهون صوب دكان نور، فيحطمون الأرفف بأرجلهم وسلاحهم وقبضاتهم، ويمزقون الكتب التي تقع عليها أيديهم.
