محمد بدران: مُترجمٌ مِصْري، يُعدُّ أحدَ أبرزِ المُترجِمينَ في مِصرَ في العصرِ الحَدِيث؛ حيثُ يَرجِعُ لَه الفضلُ في تَرْجمةِ العديدِ مِنَ الكُتبِ الأَجْنبيةِ إلى اللُّغةِ العَربية؛ لذلِكَ أَطلقَ عَليه «محمد شفيق غربال» لقَبَ «عُمْدة المُترجِمين».
حصَلَ «محمد بن فتح الله بدران» على دَرجةِ الدكتوراه بأُطْروحةٍ عَن «المِلَل والنِّحَل» للشَّهْرستاني، وعَمِلَ بالتَّدريسِ في قِسمِ الفَلسفةِ بكليةِ أُصولِ الدِّينِ بجامِعةِ الأزهَر، كما عَمِلَ بالتَّدريسِ في مَعهدِ الصَّحافة، كذلك في مَعهدِ الدِّراساتِ العُليا بالجامعةِ العَربية، فضْلًا عَن تَوَلِّيهِ إدارةَ الثقافةِ في وِزارةِ التربيةِ والتعليم. كذلك شارَكَ في تأسيسِ لَجنةِ التأليفِ والترجمةِ والنشرِ عامَ ١٩١٤م معَ مَجْموعةٍ كَبيرةٍ من أَعْلامِ الثقافةِ العَربية، نَذكرُ منهم: عَمِيدُ الأدبِ العربيِّ «طه حسين»، و«أحمد حسن الزيات»، و«أحمد أمين»، و«محمد عوض محمد»، و«محمد فريد أبو حديد» وغَيْرهم.
من مُؤلَّفاتِه: «الفَلْسفةُ الحَديثةُ في المِيزانِ وتَأْسيس القَواعدِ مِنَ القُرآن»، هَذا بالإضافةِ إلى تَرجمتِه ومُراجعتِه الكثيرَ مِنَ المُؤلَّفاتِ الأَجْنبيةِ المُهمَّة، نَذكرُ منها: «تارِيخ المَسْألةِ المِصْرية»، و«النتائِج السِّياسية للحَربِ العُظمى»، و«الدِّيمُقراطية»، و«العَدَالة والحُرِّية»، و«نهرُو»، و«فَتْح العَرَب لمِصْر»، و«مَعالِم في تاريخِ الإِنْسانية»، و«الحُرِّية والتَّرْبية»، و«قِصَّة الحَضارة» لمُؤلِّفِه «ول ديورانت»، و«هنري السادِس»، و«مَوْسوعة تاريخِ العالَم» لمُؤلِّفه «جون هامرتون»، و«ملتن».
تُوُفِّيَ «محمد بدران» بالقاهرةِ عامَ ١٩٦٠م.
