ويقدم هذا الكتاب دراسة تحليلية مقارنة لنقوش ثمودية من منطقة "رم" بين ثليثوات وقيعان الصنيع جنوب غرب تيماء الواقعة في شمال غرب المملكة العربية السعودية، وقد هدف مؤلفه إلى توثيق نقوش تلك المنطقة، وتحديد الأسباب التي كانت وراء إختيار هذه المواقع للكتابة عليها، وإكتشاف جوانب من حياة كاتب تلك النقوش، والوصول منها إلى معرفة الصلات العرقية بين القبائل التي دونت هذه النقوش، وما دار في تلك المنطقة من نشاطات حضارية وأحداث تاريخية، إلى جانب تصنيف تلك النقوش ومعرفة صلتها بالنقوش المنتشرة في المناطق المجاورة.
وقد توصل الكتاب إلى نتائج، كان منها الحصول على معلومات مفيدة في مجال الحياة الحضارية للشعوب العربية القديمة التي كانت تعيش في حدود القرن السابع قبل الميلاد إلى القرن الثالث الميلادي.
