لقد حفلت المكتبة الإسلامية يكتب جادة وهادفة أخذت موقعها المشرق في مظانّ رفوفها، وتحتلٌ مكانةً عند القرّاء، لمساهمتها الواعية في ضخّ التراث الإسلامي بمواد علمية وثقافية وتاريخية كانت من شأنها أن تعزّز أواصر الإخاء والمودة بين أفراد المسلمين.
وذلك لما اتّسمت به من موضوعية في الطرح، وصدق في العبارة، ومحاولة إلتماس الحقيقة من منابعها الأصيلة، وإنتهاج المنهج الصحيح المجرّد عن كلّ الأهواء، وألوان الميول القلبية نحو رحاب الصدق والأنصاف والكلمة الطيّبة، وكلّ ذلك ترجمة حقيقة لرغبة صادقة في تصعيد الوحدة والتقارب بين طوائف المسلمين؛ ومن هذه الكتب الهادفة: هذا الكتاب الماثل بين يدي القارئ الذي يحمل عنوان "السيدة نفيسة" للأستاذ توفيق أو علم الذي اتحف المكتبة الإسلامية بمجموعة كتب قيّمة؛ اشتملت على جملة أفكار جديرة بمطالعتها ونشرها بين عموم المسلمين.
ومن هذا المنطلق قام "شوقي محمد" بتحقيقه وطبعه بحلّه قشيبة، وقد كان منهجه في التحقيق كما يلي: اعتمد على النسخة المطبوعة من الكتاب، من منشورات دار التعارف المصرية، وهي الطبعة الثالثة منه، قام بضبط النصّ، وتصحيح الأغلاط المطبعية وغيرها حيثما وجدت، خرج الروايات والأخبار والآثار التي ذكرها المؤلّف من المظانّ المعتمدة، ووثقّ الأقوال والآراء التي أوردها أو أشار إليها بقدر الإمكان، كما قام بالتعليق في بعض الموارد بما يقتضيه المقام، نقل ما في الهامش من التعليقات والتوثيقات التي أوردها المؤلّف نفسه كما هي.
