يبحث هذا الكتاب في (المناهج الدراسية) من حيث المفهوم - الأبعاد - والمعالجات. وجاء مكوناً من عشرة فصول، الأول منها كان المفهوم الحديث للمنهج الدراسي، وهو توضيح لتاريخية المنهج الدراسي والعوامل التي تؤثر في اختياره وتخطيطه وما يستدعي هذا الفهم من تفكير علمي، أما الفصلين الثاني والثالث فعرضا الأسس المعرفية والنفسية والإجتماعية والفلسفية التي يُبنى بموجبها المنهج الدراسي بمفهومه الحديث، فيما عرض الفصل الرابع الأهداف، واهتم الفصل الخامس بعرض المحتوى الدراسي كعنصر مكون ثان، أما الفصل السادس استعرض نظريات التعلم ونظريات التدريس وبعض الإستراتيجيات والنماذج، أما الفصل السابع فتناول طرائق التدريس المرتبطة بالنظريات المعرفية والسلوكية والإجتماعية وطرائق تدريس أخرى بالإضافة إلى سمات عامة لطريقة التدريس الجيدة، فيما تناول الفصل الثامن التقويم مفهوماً وأنواعاً ومستويات، وأتبعه الفصل التاسع متناولاً تكنولوجيا التعليم والوسائل التعليمية، أما الفصل العاشر والأخير فكان عن التخطيط للتدريس ومجموعة من خطط دراسية يومية في مختلف الإختصاصات تلتها جملة من المصطلحات التربوية والنفسية، لا غنى لطالب العلوم التربوية والنفسية من التعرف عليها.
