الموت بكل فضاءاته وأبعاده الفلسفية يشكل الثيمة الأكثر حضوراً في "أحلام البنت العاشرة" للشاعرة عائشة السيف، لتتماهى داخل الديوان كل المستحيلات التي تنشئها الحياة بكل تعقداتها، وأزماتها، فيكون الموت بديلاً يحرر الإنسان من عالمه، ثم تأتي مفردات الشاعرة لتحيلنا إلى عالمها الباطني، وما تسعى إليه للوصول إلى فكرة الأشياء وجوهرها.
في القصيدة المعنونة "أيها الموت... تذكرني!"... نقرأ: "... يقتلني أني لا يقتلني الموت... وأني... يعرفنيْ هذا الموت ولا أعرفهُ... لا أعرفُ هذا الموت... الموت العاديّ... المتجرد من شبه الأشياء... الواقف تحت الظلّ... المتهم بموتِ خيانتهِ... المتذمرّ من ضجتنا... الموت اليومي الخارج من أقدام الناس... الموت المحرج بالتكرار... الموت المعُرق في العبث... الموت العالق بين العين وحاجبها... الموت الأقرب من جبهتنا... يقتلني... أن لا يقتلني "هذا الموت"... ولكن يُحيينيْ أني أعرفُ أن الموت... طريق خلاص من ضجر الأشياء!"...
عبر هذا الثراء الأسلوبي لإنتاج المعاني التي تتخفى حيناً تحت طبقات اللغة وتظهر حيناً أخرى فوق سطح القصائد، وعبر هذه الرؤية تحاول الشاعرة إقامة صلة حقيقية وواقعية مع القارئ بكل المستويات العاطفية والذهنية والوجدانية والإنسانية، وبذلك تكون قد حققت الغرض الشعري الخاص من ورود هذه الثيمة (الموت)، من خلال الرسائل المبثوثة بين النصوص.
يضم الكتاب (22) قصيدة في الشعر العربي الحديث جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: "أيها الموت... تذكرني!"، "إستراحة"، "أسئلة"، "نشيد الأرضية قبل الأخيرة"، "أفيهات موت سريع جداً"، "يحلم الموت بي"، "حالة موت!"... وقصائد أخرى.
