يهدف هذا الكتاب إلى إثراء المكتبة العربية في مجالات التعليم التقني والتدريب المهني وإعداد المدربين، وإدارة المؤسسات المتخصصة. ويأتي هذا الكتاب ضمن مجموعة من الكتب المتخصصة التي يصدرها المركز العربي للتدريب المهني وإعداد المدربين.
ويتضمن هذا الكتاب ثلاثة فصول: تطرق الفصل الأول: للعملية الإدارية وخصوصياتها في مؤسسات التدريب المهني والتعليم التقني، وذلك من خلال مفهوم العملية الإدارية ومكوناتها، وتخطيط أنشطة المؤسسة الإدارية وكيفية اتخاذ القرارات والتنظيم وبناء علاقات المؤسسة التنظيمية وقيادة وتحفيز المعلمين في المؤسسة المهنية والتقنية.
أما الفصل الثاني من الكتاب: فقد تحدث عن التخطيط للتخصصات الجديدة والمخرجات مبرزاً موضوعاً هاماً وهو التنبؤ والتخطيط لتوفير المخرجات من التخصصات، وتخطيط الأنشطة المالية في المؤسسة المهنية والتقنية، وأورد موضوع إدارة الأنشطة الطلابية والتربوية وإدارة المواد، وتقويم الأداء للمؤسسة وللعاملين، متطرقاً بالتفصيل لموضوع حيوي هو إدارة الموارد البشرية، مبرزاً فيها المفهوم والوظائف والتخطيط والتوظيف والتقييم والتدريب، وكذلك التطور الوظيفي على مستوى المنظمة وتخطيطه.
ثم أفرد الفصل الثالث: للآفاق المستقبلية للمؤسسة التدريبية والتقنية من خلال موضوعات الإدارة الاستراتيجية وتطبيقاتها في مؤسسات التدريب المهني والتعليم التقني، ومنها تحديد الأهداف الإستراتيجية، والتحليل الاستراتيجي وبناء الاستراتيجيات والنمو وإدارة التغيير التنظيمي للمؤسسة التدريبية ونظم المعلومات الإدارية.
