عالج هذا الكُتَيْبُ أَثَرَ الصُّورة في التَّعبير عن مكنونات النّفس البشريّة، وأَجْرَى دراسة تطبيقيَةً على شاعرَيْنِ أحدُهما جاهليِّ طَرَفَةُ ابْنُ العَبْد، والآخرُ عبَّاسيُّ العبَاسُ بْنُ الأحنف.
وقد تبين في شعر طرفة كيف أثرى التشبيه الحُلُمَ المُشتَهى عند الشاعر، وكيف تداخل معجمُ الصحراء ومعجمُ الحواضر في صناعة التَّشبيه ليتآلفا في تشكيل الرُّؤيا الفنيّةِ البلاغيّة عنده.
وظهر في شعر العبَّاس بْنِ الأحنف الإحتفاءُ بالتّضادُ وتراسل الحواسَ والتشخيص في جلاء معانيه، وقد وهبتُ هذه التقنيَّات الفنيةُ نصوصَهُ حركةَ داخليّةَ متناميةَ.
