يكشف هذا الكتاب عن مفهوم الروح، ويرجعها إلى طاولة البحث، وينفي صفة الغموض عنها، ويثبت أنها أمر قابل للدراسة، بل واجب دراستها، لأن الكون من الذرة إلى المجرة محكوم بالروح، وقد أنزل الله روحا من أمره كي يلتزم الناس بها، وهذه الروح متعلقة بالروح الكونية، ليشكلا مع بعضهما روحا واحدة منسجمة ومتكاملة.
وأثبت أن النفس غير الروح، والموت يتعلق بالنفس من خلال خروجها من الجسم إذا أصابه عطل قاتل، أو انتهى عمره الإفتراضي، ونفى عن الحيوانات أن يكون لديها نفوس‘ وتعرض إلى تحديد المادة التي خلقت منها النفس.
وقام بالتفريق بين مفهوم التعقل، ومفهوم التفكير، وذكر أن صفة التعقل (التمييز والشعور) هي الأصل، والحد الأدنى للوعي والإدراك الذي ينتج عنه التفاعل، وعملية التعقل سابقة في الوجود عن ولادة اللسان (اللغة) بصيغته الأحادية والثنائية، وعملية التفكير لاحقة لولادة اللسان، ليصير التفكير، وتوسع اللسان بصيغته الثلاثية، متلازمان مع بعضهما، وكلاهما كانا نتيجة ميلاد المجتمع، وانتهى إلى أن الإنفعال صفة للحيوانات والتفاعل صفة لعموم الناس، والفاعلية صفة للمفكرين والباحثين والعلماء والدارسين فقط.
وأظهر الفرق بين دلالة كلمة (الفقه) وكلمة (العلم)، وذكر أن الله عليم وليس فقيها، وأن النبي إبراهيم أول من أسس منهج التجريب، وإسقاط الأفكار على الواقع، والإنطلاق من الشك. ولو افتراضا. للوصول إلى اليقين، وتحديث الأفكار بصورة دائمة وفق مفهوم الحنفية (الثابت والمتغير)، لذا، جعل الله للناس إماما.
