تُعدّ النقوش الكتابية الفينيقية من المصادر الأساسية لكتابة تاريخ الشرق القديم، وقد كشف عن مئات منها في لبنان، الموطن الأم للفينقيين، وفي المناطق التي هاجروا إليها، واستوطنوها وعمروها، في سواحل حوض البحر الأبيض المتوسط، وفي جزره.
يبحث الكتاب في نقوش فينيقية، اكتشف أغلبها خلال العقود الأخيرة في جنوب غربي تركيا، ضمن إطار جغرافي يُعرف بتسمية "جوكوروفا" ومركزه مدينة أضنة، وهو يشكل امتداداً طبيعياً لبلاد فينيقيا من جهة الشمال. لقد بذل الباحث جهداً متميزاً في دراسة لغوية تحليلية مقارنة، كما أهتم بالبحث في تاريخ المنطقة خلال العصر الآشوري الحديث (القرون 7-9 ق.م)، وأسباب الوجود الفينيقي في مناطق جوكوروفا.
أعتقد أن هذا البحث يقدم كثيراً من المعلومات الجديدة، وهو سيغني المكتبة العربية، وبشكل إضافة مفيدة إلى الدراسات المتعلقة بدراسة النقوش القديمة .
