يوضح المؤلف جماعات الضغط الاقتصادي دور المنظمات العالمية التي أنشئت بعد الحرب العالمية الثانية للاستيلاء المادي على الدول الضعيفة, وفتح أسواق جديدة وفرض النموذج الغربي. حدد الكاتب تسمية جماعات الضغط الاقتصادي لما لها من تأثير سلبي على الدول النامية. وإيجابي على الدول الصناعية المتقدمة. وعدد السلبيات التي تلحق بالدول النامية قسراً كأن تندمج في منظمة التجارة العالمية وتسحق. أو ترهق بالقروض التي تمنح لها من صندوق النقد والبنك الدوليين. وبالتالي ترضخ البلدان النامية لكل طلبات أصحاب الشأن إما بفتح سوقها للمقايضة بالمواد الأولية. أو استغلال يدها العاملة بأرخص الأجور. كما تابع الكاتب سبل جماعات الضغط للسيطرة والنهب وأعطى مثلاً (المنظمة العالمية لحماية الملكية الفكرية) مهمتها حماية الملكية الفكرية والصناعية. والتي أنشئت عام 1967 وتضم (157) دولة. انتقلت تلك المنظمة من باريس تحت ضغط الولايات المتحدة والاتحاد الأوروبي لجولة الإرغواي. وبهذا حققت فقط حقوق الشركات الكبرى وسحقت دور الدول العربية والنامية.
