يأتي كتاب "الموهوب العالم" لمؤلفه الأستاذ فكتور سحاب بمناسبة الذكرى المئوية لولادة الموسيقار اللبناني الكبير "زكريا ناصيف"، قدم له المؤلف بمقدمة يمكن أن تشكّل ترجمة أمينة لحياة ناصيف وأعماله الفنية وذكريات المؤلف معه ومع نخبة من فناني الزمن الجميل أمثال إيلي صليبي ورياض شرارة وأحمد العشي ومحمد الكردي وآخرون ممن ساهموا في التراث الموسيقي اللبناني، وهنا يبرز رأي زكي ناصيف في هذا المجال بقوله: "ليس ثمة موسيقى لبنانية خالصة، فموسيقانا هي جزء من موسيقى بلاد الشام، التي نحن منها في عاداتنا وتقاليدنا". وعن أصالته العميقة وتجذره في التراث، اعتبر المؤلف "أن أغنياته وألحانه تنوعت تنوعاً غنياً جداً، فمن الأغنية الكلاسيكية الكبيرة، مثل أغنية "يا بني أمي"، إلى الموشح في: "سحرتنا البسمات" ، فالكلاسيكية الخفيفة في "يا ليل" أو "يا عاشقة الورد"، إلى الدبكة الكلاسيكية الرفيعة في: "يا بلادنا مهما نسينا" و "ليلتنا من ليالي العمر" ، (...)، جمع زكي في رصيده الباقي طيفاً عريضاً وعلى مستوى ممتاز، فلمّا بلغه غيره من الذين لحنوا "الفلكلور اللبناني ...".
يضم الكتاب (7) حوارات مع الموسيقار الراحل زكي ناصيف نشرت سابقاً في دليل "النهار" من العام (2004) ، تتضمن أحاديثاً عن نشأة ناصيف وجذوره العائلية ومن نكبة مالية في التجارة وعن تعلّمه العزف على آلتي المجوز والعود، وعن تعلمه الموسيقى في الجامعة الأميركية، وفضل خليل مكنيّة، خال توفيق باشا، في إدخاله المجتمع الموسيقي اللبناني، وعن تعرفه إلى الأخوين رحباني، وبدايته في إذاعتي لبنان والشرق الأدنى، وحكاية انطلاق مهرجانات بعلبك ومهرجان الأنوار الأول، وعن مسيرته الفنية منذ نشأته، حتى احتلاله موقعه المميز في مجال الفن اللبناني. كما يضم الكتاب "ألحان ومعزوفات زكي ناصيف بترتيب أبجدي" ، و "صور من الأرشيف".
