صلاح أبو السعود جاد (29 أبريل 1970، القاهرة - ) مؤرخ ومحامي وكاتب تاريخي وإسلامي مصري، حصل على ليسانس الحقوق من كلية الحقوق جامعة عين شمس، وحصل على درجة الماجستير في القانون من نفس الكلية في سنة 2000. صدر له أكثر من 16 مؤلف في المجال الإسلامي ومقارنة الأديان والتاريخ والحضارة وجميعها متداولة.

تمنيت أن يشاء لي الله عز وجل وأقوم بتأليف كتاب عن تاريخ الإمارات وعن فكر الشيخ زايد السياسي... وها هي السنين تمر ، وتأتي مشيئة المولى عز وجل وأنتهي من تأليف الكتاب، وقد قمت بتقسيم الكتاب إلى قسمين، القسم الأول عرضت فيه عرضاً مختصراً لا تفريط فيه لتاريخ الإمارات منذ الصور القديمة وحتى العصر الحديث، أما القسم الثاني من الكتاب فخصصته للشيخ زايد، وفي هذا القسم حرصت على إبراز المنهج الفلسفي الذي بني عليه الشيخ زايد حكمه، ومن خلال هذه الدراسة سيتضح لنا أن الشيخ زايد لم يكن حاكماً عادياً، فهو يعلم تماماً ما يريد ويخطط له بكل دقة وينفذ ما انتهى إليه بكل صبر وتأني، ولا ينحني أمام أعتى العواصف ولا توقفه أصعب العراقيل، ولعل الإستراتيجية التي اتبعها وهو في سبيله لتحقيق حلمه بتكون دولة موحدة تشمل إمارات الساحل المتصالح لهي خير شاهد على ما ذكرت.
والشيخ زايد هو حاكم صنع تاريخاً لن يمحوه الزمن... هو حاكم صاحب فكر وفلسفة حكم ...بعيدة كل البعد عن الفكر النظري ... قريبة كل القرب من الواقع العملي، فأثمن ما تركه لنا الشيخ زايد هو فلسفته في الحكم التي كان يطبق أسسها ومبادئها في كل ما يعن له من أمور .
