حين تتوالى الجرائم في سلسلة روايات الكاتب المبدع فراس عوض الله يتحول فريق التحري في قصصه وبطله هيرشار إلى خلية نحل تحاول كبح "جنون الانتقام" لقاتل محترف تسلسلي يتلذذ بتعذيب ضحاياه قبل قتلهم؛ فنراه في الجريمة الأولى يعلّق سيّدة على حبل ويجعلها تسقط فوق سكاكين مثبتة بسقف البيانو.. بعدما ينهي معزوفته... ويرتكب جريمتين أخريين بحق سيّدتين يستخدم فيها "تفاحة بوبو" وهي كرة معدنية مثقوبة مليئة بالسم ومربوطة بسلك يضعها في فم الضحية وما أن تحرك الضحية السلك المعدني حتى يكون الموت بانتظارها... الضحية الأولى مديرة تنفيذيّة في شركة، والثانية حصلت على الماجستير وتحضّر الدكتوراه، والثالثة مهندسة ديكور لها عملها الخاص، ويكون لكل واحدة من السيّدات الثلاث بالنسبة للمجرم أسبابه في القتل. وتستمر الجرائم واحدة تلو الأخرى، إلا أن الخيار الصعب الذي يجعل هيرشار يكاد يكون شريكاً في جريمة هو وصول رسالة من القاتل إليه يقول فيها: اليوم، سأغتصب وأقتل فتاة جميلة.. إن لم تخبر الشرطة.. سأقتل بدلاً منها مدير شركة فاسد!
ما الرابط بين هذه الجرائم؟ وما الدافع لارتكابها؟ وما الحقيقة التي تخفيها "كريس" عميلة التحري عن هيرشار وفريقه؟ وما علاقة عصابة تهريب المخدّرات الدولية بالجرائم؟ وماذا سيحل بآيرين حبيبة هيرشار بعدما دفعها فضولها لدخول ذلك المبنى المهجور؟!
