كان العسكريون العرب في مقدمة من حمل الهم القومي. حسب رأي المؤلف. حين شعروا بخطورة نتائج التطهير القومي العنصري، والذي بات يهدد الأمة العربية وجوداً من خلال الذوبان والتلاشي في أمة أخرى، وتضاف بعدها إلى قائمة الأمم التي طوى التاريخ صفحاتها، والتي باتت تعرف لدى الدارسين والمؤرخين بالأمم التي (سادت وبادت).
استيقظ العسكريون قبل أوان الذبح العنصري وأدركوا أن تنظيماً يجمعهم هو أنجع السبل للمواجهة، فشكلوا تنظيمهم القومي (جمعية العهد)، ثم خاضوا معارك الحرية سواء في مواجهة العنصريين في معسكراتهم ومواقعهم، فتعرضوا للسجون والتعذيب وحكم الإعدام أو القتل في ميادين القتال غدراً وظلماً، ثم انتقلوا إلى مواجهة الاستعمار والتجزئة والتقسيم. واتصلوا بالقوى الدولية باحثين عن عون يخلصهم ويخلص أمتهم من هذا السحق القومي المريع، فلم يجدوا سوى أشر ممن حاربوه، الذي غدر بالعهود والاتفاقيات فناضلوا ضده، بعد أن مدوا أيديهم إلى أخوانهم في الحجاز، ليضعوا معهم ثورة قومية تجمع قدرات الأمة، لتطهر أرضهم، وتحررها من الغلاة القوميين، ولتعيد لأمتهم وجودها وهويتها ولغتها، واكتشوا وهم في أتون المعركة أنهم خدعوا ووقعوا في شراك الطامعين الجدد في أرضهم وثرواتهم.
