رحت أتخيل أنني كنت معه في أسفاره, أتحدث بلغة الإنسان الأول في الكونغو, وأنبش صناديق القمامة في الدانمارك, وأنقب عن بقايا حفل شاه إيران قرب شيراز, وألتهم الحوت في ألمانيا, وأشم رغماً عن أنفي الحشيش في سهل البقاع اللبناني, وأجلس مع القائد الرواندي ذي الظهر الفضي وهو يتناول الكحول, وألتقي بحسناء معصوبة العينين تجلس تحت شمس الكاريبي تهتف لي بجرأة, وأكثر ما أثار حزني أنني لم أكن إلي جانبه في دافوس حين تلقي الضربة القاضية من بنيامين نتنياهو.. كنت أتمني لو كنت هناك.
لكنني مع هذا,أحمد الله أنني لم أكن معه في الطائرة التي أخذته إلي رأس الخيمة لتناول الشاي, أو رفيقاً له في موسكو, أجلس إلي طاولة واحدة مع رجل من المافيا الروسية يضع مسدساً كبيراً علي الطاولة ومصوباً فوهته في أتجاهنا, يمكن أن تنتصر علي نتنياهو في معركة بالأيدي, لكن ماذا تفعل وأنت أعزل مع رجل مسلح؟
كنت أعتقد أن صديقي يسافر كثيراً ليجرب أسرة الفنادق كما يفعل الكثير من المسافرين, لكنني أكتشفت أنه يطير بعيداً إلي تجربة جديدة تستحق أن تعاش وأن تروي, ولو أرغمه ذلك علي أن يغفو عند الذئاب.
