"كَتَبَتْ: بُعث شهريار!! كان واقفاً تحيط به الفراشات العِطاش.. من جواريه.. كان فارس الليل.. يتوسط العيون.. والقلوب.. ولكل عين معه.. قصة.. ولكل قلب معه.. تاريخ.. تقرأ كل شيء في همس الجفون.. ووشوشة الألحاظ.. وتسابقت الفراشات.. هذه تغنّي.. وهذه ترقص.. غابة نساء.. هو فيها السيد.. يوزع عليهن العطاء.. يمنع ويمنح حسب قانون الغابة.. كان سيد الأمسية.. أما بقية الرجال.. فقد مشوا غرباء شاحبين في ظله.. كنت أعتقد.. أن شهريار قد مات منذ زمن طويل.. حتى رأيتك.. في تلك الأمسية.. وكتب: "لا أعرف شهريار.. ولا أظنه يعرفني.. ولكني أعرف شهرزاد جيداً، وأعرف أن كل ما تقوله.. وكل ما تكتبه.. من نسج الخيال".
هي قصائده المختارات من أصقاع شتّى.. وكأنهن ورقات ياسمين تساقطن مع هبوب نسيمات الحنين إلى مشاعر نقية صافية، صاغهن خيار شاعر غريب، إلا أن القصيبي وبخياله المتألق مع أوراق الياسمين رقة وعذوبة وصفاء أحالهن إلى قصائد وكأنهن قصائده التي تسمو بالنفس والروح من خلال العبارة الشفافة والمعنى العميق والموسيقى الرائعة.
"تساءلت.. كيف تصوغ القصائد؟! لا! لا أصوغ أنا.. إنه الشعر سيدتي.. إنه الشعر يمسك بي.. ويغيرني.. ويغير عليّ.. ويجعلني، ساعة، أتجلّد.. حيناً أنوح.. وحيناً أسطر ما ليس يفهم.. لا! لا أصوغ أنا.. إنه الشعر.. يأمر كيف يشاء.. وينهي.. وأتبعه.. لا أخالف أمراً له.. أنا، سيدتي، من مماليكه.. بعض خدام خدامه.. فاسأليه.. لماذا يزور.. وليس يزار.. وكيف يجيء إذا ما أراد.. وينأى.. اسأليه لماذا يحب.. ويكره..".
