على صفحات كتاب "أوراق ..." يبدأ سليم باسيلا وجان سالمه يتناظران بنفح الطيب . فكلاهما موهبة، وظرافة، وحرارة، وإبداعاً. تبادل الإعجاب، عندهما، لون من أدب المنادمة؛ وجميلٌ أن فعلا هذا، فقد دخلا إلى قلوبنا من دون استئذانٍ.
قدم للكتاب نقيب المحامين الأسبق "عصام كرم" ومما جاء في كلمته المعنونة بـ "سليم باسيلا وجان سالمه ياما أُحَيْلى مُنادمتكما": أديبان ... كلاهما أخو مودّات .. سَفَر بينهما نَفَس واحد وإعجاب واحد ولغة واحدة. أبو علي مسكويه كان يقول إن الحسد يعتري أكثر الناس، لا سيما إذا كان المحسود قريب المنزلة من الحاسد. سليم باسيلا وجان سالمه ... قُسّط لهما أن يكونا مبدعين لا يتحاسدان، مع أن لكليهما عمارات حلا يُحسدان، كلاهما، عليهما، من أهل القيافة والعيافة هما ومثلهما كان جوزف باسيلا ... ثقافة " وعبارة" وأداء مبروراً (...)".
في الكتاب (أوراق) تبادلهما المبدعان سليم باسيلا وجان سالمه عن هموم وشجون الكتابة، وقراءة لكل منهما لإبداع الآخر، ورأي النقاد في نتاجهم الأدبي. وقد كتبت مادة الكتاب باللغة العربية وأخرى باللغة الفرنسية، جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: "سليم سليم باسيلا صائغ سناع" ، "سليم باسيلا في رسائل إليها" ، "داخل إلى القلب بلا استئذان" ، "آت من عبقر" “Poete de L’innocence” ، " شاعر البراءة" ، "بائع الأحلام" ، "سافرت عبر عينيها" (...) وعناوين أخرى.
