فتكلمه دابة المُلك: أنا من جعلت للحقيقة شهودا من القتلة، وجعلت للشهداء مدافن في قصور الخلفاء، والملوك، والسلاطين. من امتطاني حمل له التاريخ سيفا وقلما، ونفخ له الناس بوقا، ودقوا أجراسا، واعتلوا منابر، وإذا ما دخلت بوابة للنصر تركت خلفي بوابة للشهداء.. وتسبقه دابة المُلك إلى شارع كل العصور، وتزين له امتطائها قائلة: هذا شارعي الأعظم لم يُرفع فيه أذان إلا وسبقه الدعاء لمن امتطاني! فيصرف بصره عن غوايتها ناظرا إلى يساره حيث وكالة، وكتاب، ومسجد الغوري الذي غدر به والى حلب وحماه، ولكنه لم يستطع أن يغدر بأيامه المتداولة في صلاة الناس، فتنظر دابة المُلك إلى حيث ينظر، وتكلمه: أنا خيال الحقيقة وواقعها الذي يفتر عنده قلب الإنسان، أنا القدر الذي يُعرف بأيام الناس المتداولة بينهم!
