بعد أن ثارت فتنة التكفير بين مسلمي الهند في الشرق الأقصى، ورمى الغلاةُ سهام الأباطيل على علمائها، وتمادوا في تكفيرهم وتضليلهم، وجّه المحدِّثُ الشيخ حسين المدني نزيل المدينة المنورة ـ على ساكنها أفضل الصّلاة والسّلام ـ مجموعة أسئلة إلى علماء ديوبند أجاب عنها المحدِّث الكبير الشيخ خليل أحمد السهارنفوري، ونظر فيها العلماء البارزون، ووقّعوا عليها تصديقاً وتصويباً لِـما فيها، ثم أرسلوها إلى علماء البلاد العربية المختلفة الذين استحسنوها وقرّظوها، فصار هذا الكتاب بذلك محل إجماع علماء دار العلوم، وترجماناً عن عقائدهم وأفكارهم واتجاهاتهم؛ وموضحاً ومبيّناً ما يعتقده علماء أهل السنة والجماعة من أهل الهند المنتسبين إلى دار العلوم ديوبند.
