تأتي هذه المسرحية شاهداً على عبقرية فتى إسبانيا الشهيد، هذه العبقرية التي اغتيلت وهي في ابان تفتحها وبواكير عطائها الحافلة بالوعود.
ففي هذه المسرحية تتجلى شفافية الشاعر وقدرته على تطويع الكلمة والصورة. وفيها يتألق لوركا، كسيد من أسياد الظرف والمرح، وجمالية التعبير، ويتميز بفيض لا حدّ له من التوهج الإبداعي، الذي يحول الأثر الأدبي بين يديه إلى مهرجان من العطر واللون وصخب الحياة، ونبضها الدافئ الصباح بالفتوة والعافية.
