الإسكافية العجيبة La zapatera prodigiosa مسرحية كُتبت بين 1926 و 1930 وعرضت لأول مرة عام 1930 في مدريد، وتحكي قصة علاقة مضطربة بين زوجين حيث يكون الزوج أكبر سناً من زوجته بثمانية عشر عاماً.
ترفض الزوجة حياتها وتحلم بحياة أفضل فتبدأ بمضايقة زوجها لدفعه إلى تركها وتحاول تغيير حياتها.
تحوي المسرحية قصيدة يلقيها الزوج متنكراً بزي محرك الدمى. تشكل القصيدة صيغة مختصرة للمسرحية.
قامت بعرض المسرحية عدد من المسارح العربية فعُرضت في مصر كما عرضت في فيدريكو غارسيا لوركا وهو شاعر إسباني متميز قتله الحرس الأسود الفاشي وهو في الثامنة والثلاثين من عمره في غرناطة أوائل الحرب الأهلية (1936-1939). ويرى النقّاد أنه بالرغم من أن لوركا لم يكن "مناضلاً سياسياً" إلا أنه بلا شك "ثوري" بكل ما تعني الكلمة، لكن ثورته كانت "أدبية"، وكان الرجل عبقرياً في أدبه بالقدر نفسه الذي كان فيه عبقرياً في إبداع الطرق المختلفة للوصول بهذا الأدب والفن بشكل عام إلى الفقراء، فاستحق لوركا من جمهوره لقب "الشهيد" ...
بعد مصرعه وُصف لوركا بأنه أجمل قتيل على الأرض الإسبانية، وقد اختير كأحد أهم الأدباء في القرن العشرين. كان يقول "أريد أن أنام نوم التفاح، وأن أبتعد عن جلبة المقابر، أريد أن أنام رقاد ذاك الطفل، الذي كان يريد أن ينتزع قلبه في عرض البحر".
