يتحدث هذا الكتاب عن أخبار أول دولة من دول الأشراف العلويين في المغرب، من أولاد الشّرِيفِ بنِ عليٍّ (997- 1069ﻫ)، حيث ذكر فيه تاريخ مَرّاكُشَ بين سنتي (1041 ـ 1228ﻫ)، وهو مَنقُولٌ عن كتاب (التّرجُمان المُعْرِبُ عن دُوَلِ المَشرِقِ والمَغرِب) لأبي القاسم بنِ أحمدَ بن علي بن إبراهيم الزّيّاني (1147-1249ﻫ)، المؤرخ والرحالة والأديب، من وزراء الدولة المغربية، مولده ووفاته بفاس.
من كتبه: (الترجمانة الكبرى)، و (الروضة السلمانية في الدولة الإسماعيلية)، و (الترجمان المعرب عن دول المشرق والمغرب)، و (البستان الظريف في دولة أولاد مولاي علي الشريف)، و (ألفية السلوك في وفيات الملوك)، و (رحلة الحذاق لمشاهدة الآفاق)، و (فهرسة الياقوت واللؤلؤ والمرجان في ذكر العلويين وأشياخ مولانا سليمان)، و (عقد الجمان في شمائل السلطان عبد الرحمن)، و (تحفة الحادي المطرب في ذكر شرفاء المغرب)، و (درة السلوك فيما يجب على الملوك)، و (الدرة في كشف مذاهب أهل البدع)، و (جوهرة التيجان)، في الملوك العلويين، وغير ذلك.
