إنَّ حوارات محمود درويش، في نظري، هي شرفةٌ تتيح لنا أن نطلِّ على جانب أساسيّ مهمّ من شخصيّته الغنيّة، لا بوصفه شاعراً فذّا فقط، بل بوصفه رائياً وإنساناً وشاهداً حادّ الذهن على نصف قرنٍ حاسم من الإنكسارات والأحلام والمتغيّرات الّتي عصفت بالذات العربيّة، ونقلتها من زمانٍ إلى زمان ومن حالٍ إلى حال.
في هذه الحوارات يعثر القارئ على إحداثيّات الظاهرة الدرويشيّة والرؤية الدرويشيّة في الشعر والسياسة والحياة، ويدرك أنّ هذا الشاعر لم يصبح ظاهرةً شعريةً في الحياة الثقافيّة العربيّة لمجرّد أنّه كان (كاتب قصائد)، بل لأنّه في الحياة الثقافيّة العربيّة لمجرّد أنّه كان (كاتبَ قصائد)، بل لأنّه كان آلة خَلقٍ ضخمةً تبتكر الرؤى والأفكار والحساسيّات الجديدة واللغة الخصبة التي يتخلق منها الشعر.
هكذا، يمكن القول إنّ مادة الحوارات تتيح لنا أن نتعرّف على الفريق الخفيّ الّذي يرافق الشاعر في لعبة الكتابة: على الناقد والعاشق والسياسيّ والعرّاف والفوضويّ والحكيم والطفل والمهندس وغيرهم، الّذين قد لا ينتبه القارئ العاديّ إلى وجودهم داخل ذات الشاعر.
وبالإضافة إلى ذلك، فإنّ الحوارات تضيء لنا على جانب مهمّ من سيرة درويش التي بقيت في الظلّ، والتي كان يغترف منها معظم قصائده، دون ان يُفرد لها كتاباً سيريّاً خالصاً كما كنّا نتمنّى.
ولا شكّ في أن إنصراف د. محمد شاهين إلى جمع هذه الحوارات وتحريرها والعمل علي ضمّها إلى الإرث الدرويشيّ العظيم، هو علامةُ نُبل ووفاءٍ منه لروح درويش الذي لم يستطع الموت قط أن يخطفه من قلوب أصدقائه ومريديه؛ ولثقافة الحوار التي نحن في أمسّ الحاجة إليها، وللقارئ العربيّ الذي ما زال يتعطش لدرويش حين يحتاج أن يروي ذائقته ووعيه بما هو راقٍ وصافٍ وعميقٌ.
