هذا معجم لمصطلحات النحو الصرف والعروض القافية عكفت على إعداده لما رأيت مصطلحات هذه العلوم شائعة في مصنفات الأوائل في مجال التفسير، والحديث والأدب بمفهوم الواسع بالإضافة إلى قيام كتب النحو الصرف والعروض عليها وبعض هذه المصطلحات شاع وانتشر وبعضها لم يكتب له الشيوع وهذه وتلك قد تمثل عقبة أمام المطلع غير المتخصص على كتب التراث القديم تصرفه عن متابعة الفكر وفهمها أو قد تحول بين الدارسين والباحثين غير الناطقين بالعربية وبعض الناطقين بها وبين الإدراك الأدبي والتعمق الفكري فيما يتسم به التراث العربي. إذ كثيرًا ما يدور نقاش حول مسائل لغوية يتخلله بعض تلك المصطلحات التي قد يدق فهمها. فينصرف هؤلاء وأولئك عن الإطلاع والدرس والبحث في التراث العربي اللغوي والديني وتنقطع الصلة بين الماضي والحاضر، وقد أضفت لهذه الطبعة التي بين يدينا عددًا من المصطلحات وعمدت إلى مزيد في شرح بعض المصطلحات رغبة في إفادة الباحثين.
