يتضمن هذا الكتاب البرنامح التثقيفي الأساسي لأعضاء حركة التحرير الوطني الفلسطيني (فتح) في مراحلها الأولى: 1969- 1972.
تهدف الحركة إلى بناء تنظيم حديدي يكون على مستوى المجابهة مع العدو، وطالما أن التنظيم هو وسيلة الأفكار النظرية إلى التنفيذ والتطبيق والممارسة، فإن اختيار عناصر جيدة تنظم إلى الحركة يمر بأربع مراحل أساسية، وهي: 1- مرحلة الترشيح، 2- مرحلة الصديق، 3- مرحلة النصير، 4- مرحلة العضوية وبعد المرور بهذه المراحل الأربعة يصبح العضو مستعداً للنضال والإيمان بمبادئ الحركة وأهدافها. وتستوجب عليه التزامات أهمها الالتزام بالكفاح المسلح حتى النصر عملاً بالشعار "ثورة حتى النصر" إلى آخر ذلك من التزامات يشرحها الكتاب.
جاء الكتاب مرفقاً بكتيبات عشرة تشكل العمود الفقري لبرنامج فتح التثقيفي تليها ثلاثة كتيبات تتناول القواعد العشر الأساسية في تنظيم فتح مع الشرح والتوضيح، ووفق العناوين الآتية: 1- من منطلقات العمل الغدائي، 2- كيف تتفجر الثورة الشعبية المسلحة، 3- الثورة والعنف طريق النصر، 4- التجربة الصينية، 5- التجربة الفيتنامية، 6- التجربة الكوبية، 7- في الإستراتيجية، 8- تحرير الأقطار المحتلة، 9- وحدة الثورة الفلسطينية، 10- مواقف ومنطلقات ثورية.
أما الكتيبات الثلاثة التالية فتتضمن دراسات تنظيمية جاءت وفقاً للعناوين الآتية: 1- حول العضوية والقواعد الأساسية في التنظيم، 2- القواعد العشر الأساسية في التنظيم، 3- كيف تطبق القواعد العشر الأسياسية في التنظيم؟
