نحن هنا أمام كتاب صغير الحجم عظيم القدر كثير النفع، فمن يطالعه نظرة درس وفهم يدرك بلا شك ما فيه من علم نافع بلأ أسلوب ماتع بالرغم من لطافة حجمة ناقش فيه مصنفه مسألة مهمة، وخطيرة فى مبحث مهم من مباحث العقيدة الإسلامية طال فيها الجدل والنقاش قديماً وحديثاً، وهى مسألة الأسماء والصفات التى نطقت بها الأدلة الصريحة الصحيحة من الكتاب والسنة. فإن هذا المبحث يعد من أجل وأعظم ما تكلم فيه من أصول الدين، وقد تخبطت فيه أقوال المتأخرين من المتكلمين، والفلاسفة، ففريق قال بالنفى المطلق، وآخر أقر بالأسماء فقد دون الصفات، وخر أقر بالأسماء، والصفات لكنه استثنى قسم منها، وتأولها، وصرفها عن مدلولاتها الظاهرة، فعطلوا صفات البارى عز وجل من حيث لا يعلمون. راموا التتريه ظنهم، ولو أنهم أتبعوا وما ابتدعوا لكفوا، وهدوا إلى السراط المستقيم.
