الأمر الذى يعطى هذه الوصية صفة الوثيقة التاريخية الخطيرة خاصة وأنها قد تضمنت العديد من الأفكار الهامة والمركزة بخصوص ما حدث طوال القرن العشرين, وما يحدث الآن, وما سوف يحدث لسنوات طويلة قادمة. وإذا كان انهيار الاتحاد السوفيتى يمثل واحدا من أهم أحداث القرن العشرين, بالضبط مثل قيامه وإذا كان قيامه ببداية الثورة البلشفية عام 1917 قد غير وجه الخريطة السياسية والجيوبوليتيكية للعالم, فهو فى المقام الأول قد غير الخريطة الاجتماعية للعالم طوال القرن.
فهذه الوثيقة الهامة فى إطار ما يطرح اليوم من أفكار حول انهيار التجربة السوفيتية والعولمة وتلاشى الأيديولوجيا وصراع الحضارات تمثل وجهة نظر هامة للغاية.
