وقد حاول الأستاذ محمد يوسف ياسين في هذا المؤلف "المسؤولية الطبية" وهو واحد من سلسلة مؤلفات، كان قد بدأ بإعدادها، متخصصة بالمسؤولية القانونية عن الأخطاء المهنية، أن يضع بين أيدي رجال القانون وطلابه كتاباً يضم خلاصة ما أقره الفقه والاجتهاد اللبناني والفرنسي في موضوع مسؤولية المستشفيات والأطباء والممرضين" وقد أضاف إليه ملحقاً يضم نصوصاً تشريعية متممة توخياً للفائدة وتسهيلاً للباحثين في الوقوف على مختلف النواحي التي تحكم موضوع هذه المسؤولية سواء من حيث التشريع أو الفقه أو الاجتهاد.
