يضم هذا الديوان إحدى عشرة قصيدة تؤرخ لرؤى الشاعر في تسعينيات القرن الماضي، الذي يبدو فيها مشدوداً لحقبة قاهرية ذائعة الصيت في الوجدان الثقافي للكتاب المصريين، راسماً بورتريهات رجالها بحرفية المنشد وحنكة الحكاء، لذا تبرز صورة أنور كامل المثقف اليساري النبيل جلية في قصائد الديوان، ويأتي معه حواريوه كامل التلمساني وجورج حنين ورمسيس يونان ورفاقهم، لا ليكملوا الحدوته أو يتمموا قافية النشيد، وإنما لينصبوا - كما أراد الشاعر - تماثيل ميادين قاهرة التسعينات ليصلوا سبيل الخبز بغاية الحرية، إنها حيل أحمد طه وألاعيبه الشعرية الفاتنة، فهو ماهر في رسم ملامحه هو في تجاعيد الآخرين كجنرال متقاعد يحلم بالفرائس ويتسول انتصاراته على مقاعد ممر مقهى البستان.
